Draft Local Plan-Part 2 Site Allocations

Representation ID: 19897

Received: 10/02/2020

Respondent: Mr DAVID GOODERHAM

Representation Summary:

(Changed from object to support as respondent is actually supporting the categorisation of the site as unreasonable)

This land is a significant flood risk as has been demonstrated by the problems associated with development by David Wilson Homes on the adjoining site. Any further development would aslo exacerbate what is already a real issue with traffic joining the Norwich Road.

I object to this site for the reasons already stated. This would be next door to a recent development which has already put great strain on Caistor Lane which is a country road. This road already carries dangerous levels of traffic due to overdevelopment in the Poringland area. Covering this area with concrete would also have a major impact on drainage which is already very poor, the area being heavy clay soil.

Respondent: Mr Chris Troise

Representation Summary:

I support the view that this site is not considered suitable for allocation.
There are already significant planning permissions on small sites across this key service centre in the GNLP which are sufficient to provide its fair contribution to the overall numbers required.
Large and small scale developments in this key service centre including several rural parishes during recent years have been such that there has been significant disruption to the lives of ordinary residents.
I cannot comment on every site in the area but, to summarise, I oppose any allocation of further sites in this key service centre.
