Draft Local Plan-Part 2 Site Allocations

Respondent: Dr Matthew Morley

Representation Summary:

I support the site is unreasonable for these reasons:

There is no safe pedestrian access to the village facilities. Back Lane is a very narrow road with no space for widening and unsafe for pedestrians. Coltishall Road has a blind narrow turn between 2 building and so pedestrian access also cannot be accommodated. The site is some distance outside of the village edge with numerous landmark trees and thus development would be severely detrimental to the overall character of the village.

Representation Summary:

Difficult site to develop due to the narrowness of the caltishall road at that point. There might be an option with a well designed development however at the moment that site is full of mature trees as its the drive way access to the back of the developments behind birdcage farm. There have already been extensions and developments to the existing properties in this area so it would depend if it were to be for only 1 or 2 houses and a footpath/cycle path made to link to back lane that would be accessible to the public.
