Respondent: Frettenham Parish Council

The Parish Council understand there will be possibility of development on the site references which would include a footpath along Pound Hill. This would connect both sites to the village. The Parish Council would be in favour of the planning applications if these were to go ahead.

Draft Local Plan-Part 2 Site Allocations

On behalf of client object to site being considered unreasonable for residential.
Plans are underway to provide a new footpath to link the site to the rest of the village. It is also adjacent to existing employment opportunities where proposals are in place to introduce new starter units for small businesses and community facilities. A planning application for a low carbon mixed use development is currently being prepared to be submitted in 2020. The proposals demonstrate how the amenity of new and existing residents would be protected and enhanced. Ecology and other technical surveys show that there are no insurmountable constraints to delivering a viable proposal

There are currently 10 tenants occupying the units on the site. A number of new enquiries received over the past 24 months demonstrate a reasonably high demand for additional spaces for start-ups. A planning application for a mixed-use low carbon scheme at the site is currently being prepared for submission in 2020. These include proposals for new footpath links to the village.
