Draft Local Plan-Part 2 Site Allocations

Representation ID: 19847

Received: 29/01/2020

Respondent: Mr David Bunn

Representation Summary:

Objects for non allocation of site:

The site proposed for the Norwich Local Plan is on the main road through Buxton Heath (site no. GNLP0553 (GNLP2002)).

The Turn is a dead-end road as shown on the map I have provided. There is access to the school from the Heath via a right of way to Westgate Street which is at the back of the school (shown as dotted line on the map provided). This footpath is used by some parents to take their children to school. The children do not walk to school from the Heath due to the mud on the road outside Avenue Farm and flooding further along the road. Mothers take their children by car.

All facilities in the village apply to the Heath, both the school and the village hall has the capacity to expand with the growth of the village. The road has two good access points from the Heath (the A140 Norwich to Cromer road and the Norwich to Holt road).

This site is an infill site with housing all around, if the site is not considered suitable for building perhaps the frontage could be looked at as a separate site.

Finally i would like to point out that the proposed site entrance is not into The Turn as you have shown but is directly on to the main road through the Heath.
