Comment supports site being considered unreasonable

Having been to the Horsford Village Hall and viewed the above proposed site, listed as ‘unreasonable’ I confirm that my wife and I wholeheartedly agree with this assessment and totally concur with the comments made as it would totally ruin the look and entrance to our village.

Respondent: Mrs Debra Manning

Representation Summary:

We object to this development because it would be totally unsympathetic to the character of the village. No facilities in Newton St Faith–not even a shop or Post Office. No employment opportunities in the village.Would increase pressure on the Manor Rd/A140 junction, more pressure on the shared Dr’s surgery & the shared village school.Unnecessary to develop another greenfield site while there are brownfield sites in Broadland which have been allocated for planning but remain undeveloped.Would be perfect site for woodland especially as the government has pledged to plant 30 million trees a year as part of effort to tackle climate change.

Representation Summary:

(Changed from object to support as respondent is actually supporting the categorisation of the site as unreasonable in the GNLP)

This will increase air pollution from people having to travel to amenities outside Newton St Faith which has no facilities. No employment opportunities in the village will mean increased traffic from commuters and pollution. Dangerous pressure on the Manor Rd/A140 junction will create highways problems.
Why develop greenfield sites instead of brownfield? This is a conservation site where wildlife thrives and it is an essential green space for the community.
