It is vital that this area, plus the strip between 1019 and Sadler Road/Cottinghams Drive which is currently used as allotments and a recreation ground and which are in Horsford Parish 0332, are retained for recreational use. They form a boundary between Hellesdon and Horsford and more especially, they are in the direct flight path from the airport. A number of years ago, a plane came down on these fields and could conceivably do so again. A disaster waiting to happen if houses were built there. There is both noise and air pollution here.

Building these homes on this land will make Reepham Road use too much traffic as Horsfords traffic uses this road. Also they will have to use the health centre which is now waiting time of two weeks not enough doctors to cope with all the houses being built. With the old golf course now being built on no doctors on that site. Need more high schools in area also.

Heavy use on Reepham Road as Horsford traffic, Drayton and Thorpe Marriott all use this road.
All new housing would have to use doctors, waiting time now 2-3 WEEKS to see doctor. Golf course site being built on would also use the doctors as well, this would be a disaster.

These areas are not suitable for the proposed buildings because they would put pressure on Hellesdon medical practice and other facilities in Hellesdon.
They would cause traffic problems for the already busy roads of Hellesdon and would be dangerous for vehicles joining the main roads. The loss of habitat for wildlife should also be considered before building on our countryside.

The effect this will impact on the infrastructure ie. Doctors, Schools, more traffic on the roads. Hellesdon has very little recreation land of which one of the above sites is used for now. Hellesdon has already recently lost the golf course where more houses are being built. From the safety aspect these sites are on the flight path to Norwich airport and would surely be unsafe to have a housing development built here. I purchased our property with the understanding it had a 99 year lease on the land where the allotments are and would not be built on.

The effect this will impact on the infrastructure in Hellesdon ie. Doctors, Schools, more traffic on the roads. Hellesdon has very little recreation land of which one of the above sites is used for now. Hellesdon has already recently lost the golf course on the Drayton Road where more houses are being built. Yet again putting more strain on the services in Hellesdon. Hellesdon has taken its share of redevelopment. If this development goes ahead traffic will be so much more congested on the Reepham Road and Holt Road for access in and out. From the safety aspect these sites are on the flight path to Norwich airport and would surely be unsafe to have a housing development built here. This land is the flight path and crash land site for aircraft. Would building on this land not increase the traffic congestion not just on the main road but also the residential areas. NDR has taken some of this away but at certain times of the day there is an increase to traffic and trying to get out onto the main road can be tiresome. Hellesdon and Drayton surgeries also become under more pressure if people from the new developments use Hellesdon facilities. this will take more green space away from the environment affecting wildlife and peoples wellbeing.

This land is the flight path and crash land site for aircraft. I am aware that a plane/ helicopter can crash land anywhere not just a designated field. In 1974 a plane took off from Norwich airport birds got in the propellers and it crash landed on 1019/0332. the planes in the past and to this day have flown low when coming into land, I would not like to live in that space.

GNLP1019 - this land is recreational and should never be built on.
GNLP1019/GNLP1021- There are major traffic problems in this area already.
Hellesdon needs more green areas with the loss of the golf course, this will make a huge gap. Traffic and pollution is bad. Doctors, chemists ad others will be over subscribed, including the schools. Someone needs to stand up for Hellesdon VILLAGE.

Object to the site on grounds of traffic. The Hellesdon road network is already over capacity and cannot accommodate existing development that is committed, let alone the additional traffic that would arise from developing this site. The site lies within the Norwich Airport safety zone, and development would be unsafe. D This is important recreational land which is heavily used and very valuable to the residents of Hellesdon. Where are you going to find a replacement in Hellesdon?
Site Reference 0332 Horsford - Reepham Road/Cromer Road
Totally unsuitable. This site is still in a safety zone for Norwich Airport. I bring your attention to a sizeable plane which crashed in line with the flight path, had there been properties it would have been a very serious incident.
Since then the helicopters have been moved here, of course many more aircraft movements and not sticking to a flight path, an accident is waiting to happen!
So having a choice! Why would you put property in line with danger? I would be interested to see if any developer or planner would buy a property and live there.
Infrastructure in 60 years of living here I can only see two improvements to Hellesdon roads.
1/ the roundabout at Middletons Lane/Reepham Road.
2/ Cromer Road, Airport approach - widening of road.
The Royal Norwich Golf Course development is next! With probably 2,000 cars and lorries and school that's an awful lot of vehicle movements - with probably minimal amount of road improvement.
Maintenance of our highways is pathetic already!
Why not build these extra properties either side of the NDR. Traffic can then disperse and filter in various directions, instead of sending everything through Hellesdon again! This development should also be sited nearer to Horsford village, so residents can enjoy being part of the community, instead being isolated! NOT SUITABLE!
Site Reference GNLP 1019 Hellesdon, north of Arden Grove, Recreational.
Totally unsuitable. This is important recreational land which is heavily used and very valuable to the residents of Hellesdon. We were led to believe this land was a requirement based on the number of people living in Hellesdon. Where are you going to find a replacement in Hellesdon? We don't believe there is one!
This site is also part of the safety zone for Norwich Airport, you may not believe so! We can remember when a sizeable plane crashed on this site, and the helicopter movements increasing and not sticking to a so call flight path an accident is waiting to happen!
Who in their right minds would sanction building houses there, it is as irresponsible as building on floodplains which some of our clever planners sanction 9(out do not live in). we are not complaining about Norwich Airport as it was already operating when moving to this property 32 years ago. We support it, if developed responsibly. Why would you build in line with a runway when there is a choice not to.
There has been little improvement in Hellesdon in the 60 years I have lived here. 1/ a roundabout instead of cross roads at junction on Middletons Lane. 2/ Widening of the Cromer Road at the Airport approach.
Since then Thorpe Marriott development has been added. The next one to be added is the Royal Norwich Golf Course, 1,000 homes? 2,000 cars and lorry movements and a school with many vehicle movements. My guess is the road improvements will be a small as the contractors can get away with. The planners are gradually ruining Hellesdon in the same way Norwich are trying to squeeze cycle tracks in where there isn't space for them. I am surprised the NDR has no provision for cyclists at all, a few more fatalities to come on there I suspect.
Conclusion, Hellesdon cannot continue to absorb traffic. Not suitable.

Object on the grounds of: the loss of last remaining green land and impact to wildlife; insufficient road infrastructure (despite the NDR, everyone still passes through Reepham Road for the city centre and they always will!); insufficient proposals/provision given to local doctors and dentists etc.; and let's not forget any CIL money for the development would go to Drayton and Horsford Councils, while residents would, undoubtedly, be using Hellesdon facilities! Just criminal! Please just stop now. No more houses!
GNLP 1019
Please, PLEASE, do not build any more houses in Hellesdon and in particular on Cottenham's Park. This land was designated for recreational use for the Hellesdon people! How dare you over rule this licence so that you can build houses, for the people who will effectively be living on the Horsford Boundary!!! This land is one of the few remaining Green areas left in Hellesdon, particularly now you have decided to ruin the beautiful golf course by building on there! I wonder how many Broadland Council Staff actually live in Hellesdon and see the ruin it has become? It takes me over 30 minutes to drive 2.3 miles to work every day! Despite the NDR, which you promised would make a difference, Hellesdon is still gridlocked! I live on the Reepham Road and have lived in Hellsedon nearly 50 years. Shame on you for pursuing with your devastation of our community; for destroying our beautiful green areas and all the wildlife within them - this is our heritage!!!
I reject this proposal on the grounds of: the loss of last remaining green land and impact to wildlife; insufficient road infrastructure (despite the NDR, everyone still passes through Reepham Road for the city centre and they always will!); insufficient proposals/provision given to local doctors and dentists etc.; and let's not forget any CIL money for the development would go to Drayton and Horsford Councils, while residents would, undoubtedly, be using Hellesdon facilities! I object on the grounds of it being detrimental to the landscape and character of the local area. I have grown up in these woods! They are one of the few natural, beautiful woodland areas left in Hellesdon!! They do NOT need to be developed ANY way!! Aside of destroying their natural beauty and the wildlife within them, it will cause access and highway issues and will put, yet MORE, pressure on the facilities of Hellesdon, which the new occupants would undoubtedly use!!

I object on the grounds of it removing MORE of the green area left between Hellesdon and Horsford. Although it will be technically based in the parish of Horsford, it will actually be closer to Hellesdon and therefore, it will be the Hellesdon facilities, amenities and road infrastructure that will suffer.

I object on the grounds of it removing yet MORE of the green area and natural woodland left between Hellesdon and Horsford. The access will be straight onto a 50mph road and once again, this development will end up putting stress on the facilities, traffic congestion and amenities of Hellesdon!

Beautiful recreation grounds and allotments should be kept as they are. Housing here would spoil a lovely area. Cars joining Reepham Road would be accidents waiting to happen. There is no mention of providing the roads or building new doctors surgeries or schools to take all the greater population, not that we want any of these.
GNLP 0419 - 750 houses on this site would put much pressure on the roads and local amenities. The roads now are already congested at peak times of the day. It would also spoil a lovely area which quite a lot of wildlife and birds.
GNLP 0332 - another area which is good for wildlife and birds, and would also put pressure on the amenities of Hellesdon.
GNLP 0302 - another 150-200 dwellings would increase pressure on local roads and amenities.
GNLP 1019 - beautiful recreation grounds and allotments should be kept as they are. Housing here would spoil a lovely area. Cars joining Reepham Road would be accidents waiting to happen.
GNLP 1021 - Jarrold's sportsground should be kept as a recreational area, and more cars on Fifers Lane would add to more congestion.
GNLP 0290 - beautiful area of woodland, building would be detrimental to all the wildlife and birds and the walking in this place. Building here would be criminal.
GNLP 0301 - building of 276 dwellings here would more than double the amount of cars on already congested roads and people using local amenities.

Beautiful recreational grounds and allotments should be allowed to stay as they are and would be totally spoilt with housing again putting pressure roads and amenities. No mention of improving or building new amenities, doctors, schools etc. or improving the already poor road systems.
GNLP 0419 - the loss of an open field site with boundaries of woods and trees would be such a loss to Reepham Road, Hellesdon, and the building of 750 houses would be awful. We walk around here and you can hear skylarks and other birds, wildlife would suffer greatly.
750 houses would generate double that amount of cars down the road which is already busy especially work and school run times this also would put more pressure on doctors (of which I see no mention of building another practice to ease patient pressure). To sum it up not a good idea to build these houses especially as we already live here and would see the dreadful results of this.
GNLP 0332 - much the same as the above site. Another open field site with much wildlife and birds, as well as putting pressure on the amenities of Hellesdon.
GNLP 0302 - another 150 -200 properties would put much pressure on roads and amenities which are already busy.
GNLP - 1019 beautiful recreational grounds and allotments should be allowed to stay as they are and would be totally spoilt with housing again putting pressure roads and amenities.
GNLP - 1021 Jarrold's sports ground, recreational area would be totally spoilt, more cars on an already congested Fifers Lane would be terrible.
GNLP0290 - Beautiful area of woodland, detrimental to all the wildlife and walking, criminal to develop here.
GNLP 0301 - large development of 276 dwellings double the amount of cars using already congested roads and people using local amenities.

I am objecting to the proposed building because both wild birds and wild mammals would lose their homes. There are skylarks and other rare birds there also hedgehogs which are under threat of extinction.
There is currently too much traffic on surrounding roads, this would increase considerably.
The local doctors surgery would not be able to cope with any more patients. We already have to wait 2-3 weeks for an appointment.
Local school could not accept hundred of extra children.

We do not feel that the plans for these areas should go ahead. With the houses been built at the old golf course Hellesdon has taken its share of housing already. Traffic in Hellesdon is already a problem and can not handle more houses and cars.
Our children go to xxxxxxx Schools and they are already over subscribed. The junior school had to put on an extra class for year 3 this year. I worry as well how the High school will cope. Its already difficult to get an appointment at the doctors surgery so there is no way they can take on the additional people these houses will bring.
We need to protect our green areas as they are important to help reduce pollution. They also give local residents areas to walk play and socialise.
Hellesdon will be a sad place if these are removed and I worry about our children's futures.

For any person to cross the road is very challenging trying to avoid being run over with cars blocking traffic jam. This development will also affect health from pollution.
