Representation Summary:

I strongly object to any residential properties on this proposed site consideration, which is completely isolated and detached from Horsford and all the surrounding villages. The local amenities (including schools, doctors surgeries etc) are already seriously overstretched and with developments already approved (and in the pipeline) within the area, this additional housing would be totally unacceptable. There are no suitable footpaths, or bus services and the location is without doubt unsustainable. The site (which is adjacent the Drayton area boundary) also goes against the Drayton Neighborhood Plan

Representation Summary:

This large development includes GNLP 1019, recreational land in Hellesdon which must be removed. This site which includes the airport safety zone, would effectively remove the green buffer between Hellesdon and Horsford, resulting in both settlements losing their character and identity and creating an urban sprawl. Remote from Horsford, residents will use the facilities and services of Hellesdon putting additional pressure on already overstretched services, whilst adding to the already severe traffic congestion in Hellesdon..

This area includes GLNP 1019 which is designated as amenity areas in the Parish of Hellesdon. This should be removed asa, after of course. Object to the remaining designated area as being geographically remote from the parish of Horsford. Development here would place too much strain on the infrastructure of Hellesdon, effectively merging the two parishes and removing the green belt that separates the two currently. This is also under the airport flight path.

This is a large site adjacent to the Hellesdon Parish boundary and includes GNLP 1019 in Hellesdon. I object on the grounds that this site is remote from the village of Horsford and therefore and development will place extra pressure on the amenities and facilities in Hellesdon and add to the traffic congestion that already exists within Hellesdon. Also any local taxes will go to Horsford Parish Council, not Hellesdon which will bear the majority of the impact.
It also includes the Norwich Airport safety zone.
This site also incudes GNLP 1019 which is designated as recreational.

I wholly object to the plans to build new homes on the boundary of Hellesdon and Horsford. Hellesdon is a small parish with few conveniences, all of which are currently at saturation point. It is unethical to think that building new homes in this locality will enable sustainable growth. To be honest, this will overcrowd our schools, GP surgery, dentist and most of all out roads. This space is used as valuable green space by residents in Hellesdon and if taken away would be detrimental to Hellesdon Parish, not Horsford.

It is unethical to think that building new homes in this locality will enable sustainable growth. To be honest, this will overcrowd our schools, GP surgery, dentist and most of all out roads. There is already significant traffic problems within Hellesdon, down the Reepham road and along Middletons Road past the High school. This is an unrealistic plan which will cause more misery to commuters and residents alike. Hellesdon has recently earmarked Cottinghams Park as its final green space area which is regularly used by children, dog walkers and local residents. This is a peaceful place and accommodates the growth of local wildlife for all to enjoy. Allotment holders could potentially be left without their pride and joy and for some this is a lifeline, where regular interaction with locals keep them socialised and in touch with local people. This is a community area which is held in high regard by many residents and fellow local Hellesdon residents. My children are regular users of Cottinghams Park and they feel safe here.

This site includes GNLP1019 which is designated recreational land adjoining
existing hellesdon recreational land. It currently provides a green space.
The area is in the Norwich Airport safety zone and any residential development would be subject to heavy environmental noise and air pollution as well as the obvious dangers of being at the end of the runway.

Because of its location which is well away from Horsford village the main impacts of the proposal would be borne by Hellesdon which is already overstretched regarding services.

Representation Summary:

I strongly object to this proposal. Is all green space to be taken away from the next generation? As someone in Hellesdon who lives right next to the lovely current green fields my young children enjoy playing in throughout the year it would be extremely detrimental to us for these to be replaced by yet even more housing. Hellesdon, its services, schools and roads will definitely not be able to cope with the amount of houses proposed in this area as a whole at the moment.

Hellesdon, its services, schools and roads will definitely not be able to cope with the amount of houses proposed in this area as a whole at the moment.

The roads around Hellesdon are not appropriate for even more traffic, try getting around here anytime near rush hour and you will see the problem already, let alone with thousands of homes wanting to be added to the area across Hellesdon.
The fields give us an identity between Drayton and Horsford. Why this is coming under Horsford I don't know as it impacts mostly on Hellesdon.
Are there going to be new schools, doctors and other community facilities, I strongly doubt it, so again the community suffers, my children suffer. That is what angers me, my children's school, healthcare and road safety will all be put under more strain which has a negative impact on them.

I see that it is in the airport safety zone. The planes fly directly over these fields which hopefully will put off any potential buyers when they realise the noise and potential risks they will be exposed to especially as the airport plans later and earlier flight times in the future.

Yet again more "afordable" housing that will be snatched up by landlords charging high rate private rents. When will the government realise more council housing needs to be build if anything? I feel the proposal is detrimental to Hellesdon and it's residents, it would be such a shame to loose more of our precious green space to more pointless housing.

Building more houses in this area would put an even greater strain on roads, schools and the one medical practice in Hellesdon without Hellesdon benefiting from any local taxes which would go straight to Horsford Parish Council. Traffic wise it would add to the noise and air pollution that Hellesdon already suffers from. We do not have enough green spaces in Hellesdon as it is.

I feel it would be immoral to build a large housing estate of this size in this place because of 1) The current over saturation of services in Hellesdon which new residents would compete for (no new spaces to build extra parking and services within central Hellesdon), 2)The loss of the countryside and access to green spaces north of Hellesdon as It is already overdeveloped and lacking in green spaces and community land, 3) The impact of extra vehicles upon the air quality which is already poor in Hellesdon and not appreciating this impact upon on it's ageing population

building here will put strain on the roads and the facilities in Hellesdon. Although this area is Horsford residents will use the facilities of Hellesdon rather than cross the NDR. The facilities in Hellesdon are already over stretched. This development will mean that Hellesdon will lose even more open space. The application for a burial ground on this plot was turned down because the road infrastructure would not support the traffic generated. A housing estate will generate more traffic.
Finally the proximity of Norwich Airport Is this area not needed as an emergency crash area for the airport?

Potentially one of the worst developments for the area. Norwich City is already spread into Hellesdon, this land is the barrier between the suburbs and the country. It is a necessary wild life break. More importantly, this area is beneath the flight path and with planned expansion of the airport, house building here would be extremely dangerous and subject to air and noise pollution. Currently the strip adjacent to Cottinghams Drive and Sadler Road is recreational and it inessential that these are retained .The development would be unlikely to affect Horsford, but would impact massively on the infrastructure of Hellesdon.
