This area is the 'lung of the village' paddock area. Planning was applied for and rejected in this area recently for many reasons, all of which still stand! It was rejected by the village council and then again at appeal. I can hardly believe the persistance of the agent! There was and still is a strong group of objectors who worked hard at the time to lay bare the facts of the site and the positive impact ecologically and environmentally that it has on the immediate area and wider village population. Should not be considered at all for housing.

See the previous decision by the planning inspectorate on rejecting the previous proposal - nothing has changed - https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/ViewCase.aspx?caseid=3034084
I live next door to this historic piece of ancient land. Over the almost 5 years we have lived here we have had two previous developers make representation to build on this land, and both times the entire village has strongly objected and the proposals to build were roundly and soundly rejected by HM planning inspectorate (for the last one, please see decision made on 1/12/15 - APP/L2630/W/15/3034084 for application 2014/2429/F - it is available to review at https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk/ViewCase.aspx?caseid=3034084). We hope that the council looks at this decision and rejects the current proposal as well. Nothing has changed, and our objections remain the same

OBJECT STRONGLY
A recent appeal has determined that any development of this paddock will severely affect the visual amenity it provides. It is zoned 'public open space' and the benefits it brings by remaining undeveloped have been recognised and acknowledged for over 35 years. It is more important than ever that it remains undeveloped.

There are already enough houses being built in Hethersett. This site was turned down 2 years ago. Circumstances have not changed therefore this proposal should be rejected again. The village needs protected space for the wildlife and to maintain protected open space for the future.

Planning permission was only recently refused for this area, even after appeal. All the objections raised then still stand. Hethersett is already massively expanding with the current new development. Please leave the one remaining wild green area alone.

I strongly object to this land being considered for development. This land was subject to planning application 2014/2429 which went to appeal and was dismissed on the grounds set out in the attached document:

The reasons stated on this document still stand, this land should not be considered for any further planning applications. The site is designated as Important Local Open Space and should stay that way.

I strongly object to this site being considered for development.
The previous planning application (South Norfolk Council reference number 2014/2429) was rejected and the subsequent appeal with The Planning Inspectorate (Appeal Ref: APP/L2630/W/15/3034084)was dismissed.
The site is designated as an Important Local Open Space, as identified in Policy DM 4.4 in the DM Policies Document (2015)and the development would involve the loss of a significant proportion of the ILOS, and
would materially harm its open character and appearance.

1/ Findings of Planning Inspector who refused appeal for development of this site arising from last planning application for this site are still entirely valid.
2/ Maintaining open space within centre of village is very important given the current & ongoing development of 1,000+ homes to North of existing village. Scale of this new additional development should not allow further development within village centre, increased density will adversely affect natural environment traffic, safety, noise, pollution, air quality etc.

This would change to lovely look and character of the are the main reason we all chose Hethersett to live.

It would be totally wrong to build on this land its would change the traffic volume and visual look for all the houses in the area.

The site is designated as an Important Local Open Space. A recent planning application was rejected and the appeal was dismissed; circumstances have not changed since. If it is to be sustainable, the current rapid development of Hethersett makes the preservation of open space and the creation of corridors and refuges for wildlife even more important.
The site is designated as an Important Local Open Space, as identified in Policy DM 4.4 in the DM Policies Document (2015) and its development would involve the loss of a significant proportion of the ILOS. In addition it would materially harm the open character and appearance of the remainder.
A recent planning application (South Norfolk Council reference number 2014/2429) was rejected and the appeal APP/L2630/W/15/3034084 was dismissed.
There has been no change of circumstance since these determinations.
In addition to be sustainable the rapid development of Hethersett calls for the preservation of open space and the creation in consultation with neighbouring planning authorities of corridors and refuges for wildlife. Gardens aside, this will be part of the only significant open space remaining in Hethersett on completion of the developments for which planning permission has already been granted; it is significant that the new developments make no provision for extensive open spaces of this kind.
