Strumpshaw Parish Council objects strongly to this proposal. The site is adjacent to the Huntsman Pub which has closed due to repeated flooding. The site is therefore unsuitable for housing. Strumpshaw has no shop, no school, only one pub and very limited public transport so is not suitable for additional housing. The site is outside the settlement limit in the Strumpshaw Neighbourhood Plan. There can be no good reason to extend the settlement limit.

This site is outside the settlement area agreed in the Strumpshaw parish plan. It is currently an unattended meadow which encourages local wildlife. Building on this site changes the character of the village and linking this to the Hamper people and Hunstman sites makes thus even more so as the hedgerows and trees will be ripped out.
