Site Proposals document

Representation ID: 12900

Received: 05/02/2018

Respondent: Mr Geoff Carruth

Representation Summary:

This site was rejected a few year ago on the ground that it is in a designated area of natural beauty, has limited road and other infrastructure, and would significantly degrade the local area. Nothing has changed or been improved in this area, so surely the original objections still hold. The landowner seems determined to maximise profit to the detriment of the area and local residents, and no plan for improvement is evident. So many houses built on this site would be irresponsible.

Full text:

This site was rejected some years ago based on the fact that it is in a designated area of natural beauty, has very limited road access (which has not been improved), and would significantly degrade the local area. There seems to have been no change to the proposal, with no road or other infrastructure improves specified, and no clear plan for how the area would be protected from an eyesore of so many houses. To build housing in this area would be irresponsible and would likely harm existing property values. The existing schools and other local facilities would also need to be significantly improved to deal with the influx of new families, no plan has been specified as to how and when this would be done. If the landover is so determined to treat this area as a cash cow with no regard for the local residents, why not consider a lower impact type of development to minimise damage.
