I live adjacent to these woods, I consider myself lucky to be next to this very important wildlife site. The variety of creatures we have witnessed has improved our quality of life. We keep bees and have noticed a vast difference in the flavour of our honey which is due in part to the woods and the food available to our workers. We regularly have newts, sometimes families of newts in our garden, along with the usual, foxes, deer of different types, hedgehogs, squirrels etc, along with occasional sparrow Hawks, grass snakes when it's dry, unusual butterflies and insects.. Local people still walk their dogs here and sometimes I see family groups out for a walk in the fresh air looking for odd fungi etc. This land supports a huge diversity of wildlife, there's nowhere for them to go. We have building work passed at the bottom end of Greenborough road and the huge estate from White House farm/Tesco/Blue Boar lane with hundreds of characterless boxes being thrown up and called social housing and it would be a travesty to allow that on this land
