Site Proposals document

Representation ID: 14080

Received: 15/03/2018

Respondent: Mr Graham Cooper

Representation Summary:

This is an extension outside of the settlement area of the village on to Grade 2 agricultural land that is prone to being waterlogged and should not be allowed for housing. It is also an unsuitable development alongside the existing Lingwood Road which today is not safe for traffic in both directions. The building of houses on this site will in addition spoil the scenic landscape of the village.

Full text:

Blofield has in the very recent past had a number of large housing developments within the settlement area and still more are to be built in the near future, in particular the 175 houses at BLO1.

The village is already suffering infrastructure problems and it is wrong to extend the settlement area of the village south of Lingwood Road. This land is prone to being waterlogged and is Grade 2 agricultural land. It should not be built upon as it will also destroy the scenic views from existing and new housing north of Lingwood Road.

Much of Pound Lane is also a green footpath so it is marked incorrectly on the site proposal plan being shown as a if it is an existing road. It is also an unsuitable development alongside the existing Lingwood Road which is not safe now for traffic in both directions.
