Representation ID: 14275

Received: 17/03/2018

Respondent: Great and Little Plumstead Parish Council

Representation Summary:

The Parish Council objects to this site allocation. In particular the mention of "links" to Little Plumstead, where there is no infrastructure to support such a link to a major development. The road access to Little Plumstead is not suitable for a high volume of traffic. The allocation also does not comply with Policy 1 of our Neighbourhood Plan.

Full text:

The Parish Council strongly objects to this site allocation. The Parish does not have the infrastructure to support such a neighbouring development. The Parish holds no shops, doctors etc. There is only one primary school which is already at capacity. This site allocation is within the parish of Witton which is completely cut off from Postwick by the NDR/A47. The "links" to Little Plumstead would solely be for through traffic as we have no infrastructure to speak of.

The current road which links this site to Little Plumstead is a true country lane and is not designed to take the kind of traffic which this kind of development would produce. Together with this where this road joins Hospital Road/Salhouse Road is a very sharp bend and literally on the boundary of the national speed limit, which makes it a very dangerous exit/extrance.

The site allocation does not comply with Policy 1 of our Neighbourhood Plan which states "New development will respect and retain the intergrity of Great Plumstead, Little Plumstead and Thorpe End Garden Village as distinct settlements, protecting their character as individual villages..."
