Respondent: Mr Martin Yaxley

Representation Summary:

Lack of Infrastructure This site has been included in previous plans and rejected because the same issues so should still be rejected
Schools already at capacity although a Primary school is mentioned this will still have additional fallout to other schools especially the additional intake for the High School.
The main issue is with Doctors Already stretched with the existing population an additional increase in numbers will put unbearable strain on an already crippled system.
A site this size is unpractical for the area. Increase in noise and road movements on existing roads which is already busy at peak times.

This site is totally unacceptable due to lack of infrastructure and size. This site is always up for inclusion in the plans every 5 years. It has been rejected every time due to the lack of infrastructure and provisions that are needed for a site this size. The current provisions that covers the existing settlements for doctors is at full capacity which proves a problem with waiting times as it stands. Any increase with such a development will bring the system down. Until such time as adequate facilities for the increase in population of a site this size is included this will always be completely unacceptable. 1400 homes will average 2800 people at least. Increase the traffic movements by at least 1400 per day using the existing network which is already struggling even with the addition of the NDR. A provision for a primary school is welcome which will alleviate the already heavily subscribed schools in the area but this does not take into account the additional students for the High school. The existing services is already running at close to capacity any additional developments would mean the serious need for updating the sewage and electricity infrastructure. What is the fascination with carving up the countryside for the so called need of houses. A site this size would almost double in area and size of Thorpe Marriott. This would change the outlook of Taverham which would mean that we lose the village affect and would become just another suburb of Norwich.
We object to this development and feel this is totally unacceptable for this area.
