Site Proposals document

Representation ID: 14574

Received: 19/03/2018

Respondent: Mrs Alexandra Haswell

Representation Summary:

The current road network is over capacity making it dangerous to walk through Lammas, the schools and doctors are at capacity and the infrastructure is simply not there to support this kind of development. If more houses are needed, build on the edges of existing towns where there is, at least, some existing infrastructure.

Full text:

As a resident of Lammas, this proposed site is not only impractical but will cause huge issues for those people living in Badersfield, Lammas and Buxton.
The roads are not equipped to cope with any more traffic - Lammas is dangerous to walk through due to traffic using the village as a rat run. People living in the village with children are forced to drive their children to the school in Buxton as it is simply too dangerous to walk through. Development adjacent to Badersfield will increase the problem making it impossible to walk through the village safely.
Schools and Doctors Surgeries are at capacity and cannot cope with increased housing.
This land is greenfield land - brownfield sites should all be developed before it is even considered appropriate to develop greenfield land in completely inappropriate locations.
