Representation Summary:

Too many houses leading to over run schools - not enough provisions as it stands.

Over subscribed Doctors surgery in Taverham, making it impossible to get an appointment already.

Existing infrastructure around Taverham is not fit for purpose - Traffic going in and out of the city in rush hour have an average journey time into the city of about 50 minutes. This would only get worse.

Sandy lane is already a rat run. Traffic come down the road much too fast and do not slow down for our children or our elderly residents to allow them to cross safely.

There are not enough provisions for doctors surgeries and schools in and around Taverham as it stands. This was meant to be rectified when Thorpe Marriott was built with the provision of schools and doctor surgery being placed in Thorpe Marriot but neither happened - unless our children are protected from having yet more over subscribed schools and we are absolutely guaranteed a new Gp surgery, then this site should not be given the green light for further homes. It seems the needs for the existing community are rough rided over for the sake of building new homes and meeting government targets and I firmly object to this. As for the infrastructure surrounding the Fakenham road - it is safe to say that as it stands it takes at least 50 minutes (and I'm being generous!!) to travers the Fakenham Road into the city centre at the moment and it is not fair to put more pressure/congestion on this road.

Where is the thought and care towards existing residents of this area?
We have already been swallowed up by Thorpe Marriot, which although well laid out, let down the parish of Taverham badly as a community, when the need for n additional school and Doctors surgery was not considered essential. Taverham Doctors surgery has over 9,000 patients at the moment and only a handful of doctors. The surgery states they struggle to get GP's to work in the practice. - Has any thought been put into how further patients will impact on the wellbeing of the GP's and other staff that we desperately need to retain? The amount of new homes is unsustainable for Taverham, just because we have land around us does not mean it should be the obvious choice for more homes.

Sandy lane is already a rat run for those from Thorpe Marriot and other near by residential areas to access the A47 - which makes it unsafe for our children to get to school as it is, due to the Lollipop lady only working to aid the first school children crossing the road and leaving children of the age of 7 upwards have to dice with death to cross the road to access Taverham Junior School, as traffic comes down the road much too fast and do not slow down for our children or our elderly residents to allow them to cross safely.

Enough is enough.
