Received: 22/03/2018

Respondent: Mrs Kirsty Savage

Representation Summary:

Not enough capacity locally within shops, schools, nursery/eyes places, roads, police, doctors and dentists to allow this development to happen.

Are doctors surgeries have full recruitment they still do not hve capacity to treat exisiting numbers of local residents! And the roads here are already extremely clogged up.

Full text:

Taverham, thorpe Marriott and drayton do not have sufficient infrastructure in place to support 1400 more homes. I appreciate your faqs say that it does not matter whether there are enough doctors surgeries or not but that is a ridiculous comment. Both taverham and drayton doctors surgery's have a good compliment of doctors, recruitment is not the issues here, capacity is.

You are saying you will open a new primary school, but what about secondary. The existing school site has very little room for further expansion and this would be a significant number of additional pupils. I went there when we had 17 mo old and not enough classrooms and it was at times a struggle, I would hate for my daughter to have the same.

The local roads could also not cope with that number of additional homes, especially when you take into consideration those planned for beech Avenue, which is the main rat run to the a47 as the ndr does not provide a link that way. Not to the city so again most of the traffic would be on the reepham and fakenham road.

The addition of the planned bargain supermarket on for covert would help with some of the additional stress on shops but the traffic issues that would be created would be astronomical. The beech Avenue/for covert junction with the fakenham rd is all ready ridiculous with multiple crashes there a month, many fortunately are small and from knowing people involved these are resolved without insurance companies. All this needs to be considered.
