Representation Summary:

Site GNLP0062 proposed houses on Taverham Road Wensum Valley, SSSI . Concerned about House Sparrow, Red Listed birds, have colony in hedgerow on edge of the field. Potential pollution of River Wensum, SSSI designated area. Traffic along Taverham Road at commuter times has increased considerably. Speed of vehicles well over 30/20mph in designated areas. Parking during school drop off/ pick up /ending up on the bank, which is being eroded. Lorries doing rat run access roads will need to be improved. Better to build on larger open spaces to enable appropriate road structures to be built.

wish to comment on Site 0062 proposed houses on Taverham Road Wensum Valley, SSSI . Commented on previous application for this site, and those comments still stand...House Sparrow, Red Listed birds, have colony in hedgerow on edge of the field. Potential pollution of River Wensum, SSSI designated area. Additional comments are that now Taverham Hall School has merged with Langley School, traffic along Taverham Road at commuter times has increased considerably. Speed of vehicles well over 30/20mph in designated areas. Beginning of school day and end of school day parking , with cars ending up on the bank, which is being eroded. Language and road rage increased. Lorries use the road as a rat run and do not stick to the speed limit. Access roads will need to be improved/enlarged/round-about /traffic lights. Not sure how this can be achieved. Taverham is also being used as a rat run, NDR to A47 with increased traffic on roads and bridges not suited to heavy use. Better to build on larger open spaces to enable appropriate road structures to be built.
