Site Proposals document

Representation ID: 19617

Received: 16/11/2018

Respondent: Mrs Patricia Brocklebank

Representation Summary:

SUBMITTED DURING STAGE B OF CONSULTATION

I object to this proposal for the following reasons;

* Lingwood Road is a minor road which already has challenges with traffic passing each other
and is dangerous for pedestrians. To build 125/149 new homes with cars entering onto this road would be unacceptable
* The land is high quality agricultural land and should be used as such. We have recently lost lots of agricultural land to housing
* The proposal is outside of the development envelope for settlement in the village
* This road and the surrounding area are subject to flooding, this has been a major challenge for the Keir site which drains onto Lingwood Road. The surrounding area is called Waterlow
* The Neighbourhood Plan, adopted in 2016, refers to flooding and this area in particular
* The Neighbourhood Plan, also refers to protecting rural views and vistas, the site proposed is such a view

* Blofield has already experienced tremendous growth with approx. 400 dwellings already committed, a further 75 in Blofield Heath and significant development in Brundall
* There have been no improvements to the infrastructure, such as roads and sewers
* The services such as schools, doctors, etc are already at or over capacity
* It is contrary to the Blofield Neighbourhood Plan adopted in 2016 which limits growth to small developments
* The roundabout at the Yarmouth road/ Cucumber lane junction is at capacity
* All this development is urbanising villages that are in a rural location.
