Draft Local Plan-Part 2 Site Allocations

Representation ID: 20378

Received: 05/03/2020

Respondent: Wroxham Parish Council

Representation Summary:

Wroxham Parish Council wholeheartedly agrees with the GNLP findings that this would be an unreasonable site for development. During the consultations for the Wroxham Neighbourhood Plan in 2018 this site was overwhelmingly rejected by the people of the village. Given the current severe lack of community infrastructure in the village a further 100 homes would merely add to pressures on medical facilities, schools and recreational sites. This site borders on an Article 4 Direction Conservation Zone and its proximity to this and the Broads make it an unreasonable site for development and would risk destroying the character of the village.

GNLP2131 - 100 Dwellings
Wroxham Parish Council wholeheartedly agrees with the GNLP findings that this would be an unreasonable site for development. During the consultations for the Wroxham Neighbourhood Plan in 2018 this site was overwhelmingly rejected by the people of the village. Given the current severe lack of community infrastructure in the village a further 100 homes would merely add to pressures on medical facilities, schools and recreational sites. It would further add pressure on roads including the A1151 which is often gridlocked during the summer months. The road junction with Salhouse Road, Preston Close and Keys Drive would also be severely compromised. Additionally this site borders on an Article 4 Direction Conservation Zone and its proximity to this and the Broads make it an unreasonable site for development and would risk destroying the very character of the village.
