Draft Local Plan-Part 2 Site Allocations

Representation ID: 21337

Received: 16/03/2020

Respondent: Mr Timothy Holt-Wilson

Representation Summary:

This site is a suitable candidate for partial development. The East Anglian clayland landscape typically has a dispersed rather than a nucleated settlement pattern. The emphasis being place by the GNLP on promoting a nucleated pattern, with big housing concentrations, is detrimental to the landscape character of the area. Small dispersed housing development at sites such as GNLP0606 could make a modest contribution to meeting housing targets while respecting landscape character. Visual landscape impacts can be mitigated by landscape design. Walking routes to schools do not exist for other parts e.g. The Heywood, so are not a necessity here.
