Road safety improvements required if site is developed.
The construction of up to 20 dwellings on this site will put further pressure on Chequers Road, which is a narrow road with increasing traffic flows caused by the new Tharston Meadow development, and which is heavily used by people working at the Tharston Industrial Estate. Any development on this site should be accompanied by safety improvements at the junction of Chequers Road and Swan Lane, preferably with a lower speed limit on Swan Lane/Forncett Road. The addition of central white line road markings along Chequers Road would also help to keep passing traffic apart, as drivers do exceed the current 20 mph limit and pass very close to other motorists.

The Infrastructure is very poor and local roads are already being used as rat runs meaning that local residents are against future development till this infrastructure is better and local residents are able to feel safe in their own village. The area also suffers from a problem with speeding due to the lack of infrastructure
