Respondent: Mrs Andrea Donnison

Representation Summary:

I object to arable land being used for housing when there are plenty of brownfield sites available to use first.Farmland should only be considered once there are no other alternatives available.I am concerned at the proposed housing volumes.77 closely packed properties goes against the way the village is currently laid out. We already have a green space, which is in the true centre of the village. The school is already oversubscribed as is the Doctors surgery. The pumping station is struggling. Public transport is almost non existent. The sharp right hand bend in Poppy's Lane must be straightened as priority.

77 houses is an over-development of the site, which is prime arable land currently. The bends on Norwich Road and Poppys Lane are potential issues.

Representation Summary:

With respect to site reference GNLP1052R, the applicant welcomes the Council's decision that the site represents a suitable site for future residential development. We would stress that the proposals put forward in contrast to recent speculative applications and individual piecemeal development within the district represents an opportunity to help deliver a plan-led future for the village and local community. One that addresses the specific existing and future needs of the village in a manner that reflects the location of the site within the village facilities available in the village. We would therefore welcome your support for the inclusion of the above site in the emerging local plan.
