This plot of land has been subject, some years ago, to a planning application to build houses. There was an unprecedented response against the application by the villagers at that time.
reasons cited included-
Poor drainage off the land and lack of mains sewage.
limited visibility from main exit road on to village thoroughfare.
Detriment to the visual impact of the area. In particular the impact on two properties which were highlighted in previous local planning documents as being of particular importance to the character of the village.
insufficient local services to support increasing population of village. Infrequent bus service
