Representation Summary:

Beighton is a small rural village with no amenities, we live here for tranquillity-and do not want a large village. It decreases property value, as our quiet location will be lost. My property is next to Hanton's Loke, a narrow dirt track, unsuitable for additional traffic. Both High Road and Southwood Road are already highly busy and traffic frequently breaks the speed limit. Any traffic using a concealed Hanton's Loke or new turning will increase the risk of accidents, due to poor visibility when turning out of properties on Southwood Road and the speed which vehicles travel along the road.

I fully object to the proposed planning site, and there are a significant range of reasons for this.

Firstly Beighton is a small remote village which has no amenities of any kind, it is fully rural, which is why people including myself have chosen to live here for the peace and tranquillity, as we do not want to be part of a large village such as Lingwood, which has such amenities in abundance. It seems a very strange place to build 36 new dwellings, as what does Beighton have to offer to families, who are potentially one of the main target market for these homes? Most people have not even heard of Beighton. Having such a large development as this in this village, will decrease mine and others property value, as the uniqueness of our quiet rural village location will be lost.

Secondly my property is located directly next to Hanton's Loke, which can be best described as a narrow dirt track rather than an actual road. It has terrible access to get in and out of and I regularly see vehicles such as vans and larger vehicles upwards struggle to navigate down it, due to the narrowness and poor condition it is in. This dirt track would not be able to cope with the traffic associated with building these new dwellings, along with the vehicles, which will reside at these properties if they are built.

Thirdly the main road into the village High Road is already an extremely busy road due to all the traffic going to Cantley Sugar Beet Factory, it has a speed limit of 40 miles an hour, which is regularly broken by speeding vehicles which frequently light up the 40 mile hour speed sign. Recently lots of community speed watches have been carried out on this road, as well as on Southwood Road, which continues to raise concern of local residents as to the already high level of traffic already present within this small village.

Fourthly Southwood Road itself is also a busy road, especially with large farm vehicles, and is used as the main cut through road to other surrounding villages. Thus more traffic going in and out of the concealed Hanton's Loke or a new turning further down at the site will increase the risk of accidents, due to poor visibility when turning out of properties on Southwood Road and the speed in which vehicles travel along the road. Myself and my Husband were involved in a serious car crash in October 2017, we were turning out of our drive on Southwood Road, and a speeding car which had turned off from the High Road hit our car with such speed and force it caused our car to be turned to face the other direction and the damage caused resulted in our car being a total write off. This happened to us and we do not have a concealed driveway, imagine what could happen to vehicles turning out of concealed and unknown turnings.

All of these reasons provide strong reasons why this development should not happen.
