The playing field is registered as a green space for the community and has been used by the village for many decades, organised youth football games are currently played on it. Any replacement will take several years before it would be playable.
The proposal necessitates incursion into the adjacent field, which is on rising ground. Any development would be an unacceptable intrusion into the landscape, and would adversely dominate the rural scene.
The plan for this site indicates a possible road going further into the green site. Is this for a second stage on rising ground?
