Further residential development in Swainsthorpe would lead to added pressures being placed on villages that have the facilities that Swainsthorpe lacks, without those facilities being upgraded to meet inevitable demand. Mulbarton is the nearest community containing a surgery, a school and shops, and has already absorbed hundreds of new households in the last decade, with no account taken of its ability to service this increase. Further development will increase traffic movements onto and off the A140 and between Swainsthorpe and Mulbarton along a narrow lane that is not suitable to take much of the traffic that already uses it.
