Swainsthorpe is considered suitable for only small scale "infill"
development in existing local plans, this site is much larger. The proposed access onto Church Road via Church View is onto a dangerous bend, to a narrow road already used as a "rat run" to Mulbarton and it is opposite a children's play area. School buses and visitors to the church and play area regularly park on the Church road at this point. There's a public footpath near the site that would be lost. This site would be a precedent for similar developments changing the rural character of the village forever.
