Representation Summary:

This road is barely fit for purpose as it is. Allowing further development on a bad visibility section to number of houses (unknown) is asking for trouble. I believe personnel safety is paramount to roads / highways, this road requires significant investment to bring up to present day values, e.g. It's a rat run, speed restrictions are barely functional, and yet further housing proposed. Nonsense comes to mind, however I am happy to discuss this issue at any planning level, highlighting the negatives out weighing any positives

Presently residing onTaverham Road, We see significant traffic using this road as a rat run, either to Fakenham road or as shortcut to Costessey via Taverham lane. The road has been recognised as a "nice leafy peaceful" road to reside, however latterly this is not the case, the speed restriction "chicanes" function poorly, regularly see many speeding vehicles. To consider building further houses (numbers Unknown) with access from Taverham Road on a relatively poor visibility section defies safety logic. Rather than consider destroying further green belt why not review limitations already placed on this road, e.g. Ensure lighting fit for purpose, is not presently. The road is prone to being dug up regularly, either water issue or gas!! Allowing more vehicles problematic to all residents, furthermore foot paths presently unacceptable.
Please carry out risk assessment on pedestrians, cyclists usage on this road now!! Once assessment carried out am sure planning group will agree that the road has enough population presently such to ensure safety of personnel.
