New, Revised and Small Sites

Representation ID: 18102

Received: 08/12/2018

Respondent: Dr Robert Bulmer

Representation Summary:

Access to and from this site either from Taverham Road or Macks Lane would be extremely dangerous due to the lack of visibility, high traffic volumes (which often speed despite the pinchpoints), and the presence of only one pavement for pedestrians. Macks Lane is a popular amenity for local people and building alongside it would set a precedent for future developments that would spoil the semi-rural view. The site has several ancient trees that are home to bats, owls and other wildlife so the biodiversity would be seriously affected, and it is also close to the River Wensum's SSSI.
