Representation ID: 18125

Received: 08/12/2018

Respondent: Mr James Barnard

Representation Summary:

I wish to object strongly to the proposed development. After reviewing the proposal and knowing the area well I would like to object for the following reasons:
- this infill development is designed for personal gain rather than supporting the needs of the village
- the village infrastructure is not set-up to support increased housing
- traffic increases will result in greater congestion, increased pollution, more cars using 'rat runs' and increased danger for residents
- significant detriment to local wildlife
- site is mainly greenfield and richly habitated hedge and trees #object

I wish to object strongly to the proposed development. After reviewing the proposal and knowing the area well I would like to object for the following reasons:
- this infill development is designed for personal gain rather than supporting the needs of the village
- the village infrastructure is not set-up to support increased housing
- even minor traffic increases will result in greater congestion, increased pollution, more cars using 'rat runs' and increased danger for many young adults and children walking to and from school
- there will be significant detriment to local wildlife
- the development site resides (in part) on an old chalk pit
- the land is close to the river and will present flood risks and impact to the many native species
- the site is mainly greenfield and is surrounded by local walkways and used by many village residents for walking dogs, riding horses and a safe play zone for Children
- the site is surrounded and flanked by dense and richly habitated hedge and tree lines
- residents using the surrounding area currently have far reaching and naturally beautiful views, any development would significantly damage this
- this development would be out of character for the village

In addition to the above I understand the local Parish Council is objecting to these proposals.

Finally I would like to be invited as a local resident to formally object if your process requires 'consultation' input.
