New, Revised and Small Sites

Representation ID: 18378

Respondent: Mrs. Kathryn Holdsworth

Representation Summary:

1: These fields are used daily by walkers from the local community, and provide valuable support to local wildlife. The close proximity to nature in our daily lives has a positive influence on the wellbeing of myself and my family, and is the main reason we chose to live here.

2: Hold - ups on the A140 are commonplace, and the impact that more traffic; particularly heavy, slow moving vehicles, would have on traffic flow, in itself makes the proposed project unfeasible.

3: Swainsthorpe is a beautiful rural village, and the proposed development would make it an eyesore.

This large industrial development is completely inappropriate for a small rural village. The site will vastly overshadow Swainsthorpe, and can only have a detrimental effect on the quality of life of the village residents. These fields are used daily by walkers from the local community, and provide valuable support to local wildlife. The close proximity to nature in our daily lives has a positive influence on the wellbeing of myself and my family, and is the main reason we chose to live here. I have no doubt that fellow residents are similarly effected. Other factors that lead me to object to this proposal are the impact of extra traffic on the A140. This single carriage road cannot support the existing traffic, hold - ups are commonplace, and the impact that more traffic; particularly heavy, slow moving vehicles, would have on traffic flow, in itself makes the proposed project unfeasible. My other point of objection is the visual impact of such a development. Swainsthorpe is a beautiful rural village, and the proposed development would make it an eyesore.
