Site Proposals document

Submitted during stage B consultation
I wish to object to this proposed site for the following reason:

1. Increased traffic. A Department of Transport report cited in the EDP on 19/11/18 stated that traffic had increased by 33% on the A143/A146 to which I am closest. The increase in residents will only add to the noise pollution, air pollution and congestion. Several accidents occur at the junction exiting Gillingham (had 2 in one day) onto the A146 and in the vicinity of the roundabout many of which have been fatal. More traffic will concomitantly increase the risk of more accidents happening.
2. It states the site is 4.5 hectares and usually 20 per hectare are built so I am worried that more houses will follow. I also think that this value is an underestimation of the site size based from measuring from the 1:2000 site map.
3. This is not a small number of houses in terms of the size of Gillingham. In 2011 there were 294 houses hence it is a 17% increase in the number of dwellings and 4.5 hectares is I think ~8% of the area of Gillingham and I am worried about the impact this would have on the local amenities and the conservation area across the road.
4. As more areas are built over and the climate is changing I am also worried about flood risks in the area.
