Draft Local Plan-Part 2 Site Allocations

Representation ID: 20540

Received: 09/03/2020

Respondent: Mrs Elizabeth Glazier

Representation Summary:

(Changed from object to support as respondent is actually supporting the categorisation of the site as unreasonable in the GNLP)

1. Prime agricultural land needed for essential food security would be lost.
2. This cultivated land also provides a vital buffer area around the SILFIELD NATURE RESERVE allowing green corridors for movement of many species including the Great Crested Newt, a highly endangered species protected by law. This reserve, managed by Norfolk county Council countryside Team on behalf of the Highways Agency, is an excellent example of supporting nature in its wild state but also needs to retain plenty of open space around it.
Therefore building housing right up to this reserve would greatly impact the survival of these creatures.
