These proposed houses being on higher land would overlook the existing dwellings (some of which are listed) on the other side of the street, impinging on their privacy. Also the increasing frequency of severe rainfall events may result in water run off issues from the site affecting these properties. The construction of 12 dwelings would also increase light pollution in a hitherto relatively dark sky area. While it cannot be denied more housing is needed in Norfolk, brownfield sites should be fully exhaused before more of the countryside is concreted over.
Plus, as the village is to suffer the building of the western link of the Northern Distributer Road with the A47, north of the village, with the resulting increased air, noise and light pollution, Honingham's residents should be spared additional developments within the village.
