This land has archaeological remains of an Iron Age enclosure. Since this is the only confirmed arcahaeological site of interest in Roydon, it would be a great pity to destroy it. The land is also low lying on the river flood plain and may be subject to more regular flooding in future, as will surrounding extant properties.
