Site Proposals document

Representation ID: 15840

Received: 22/03/2018

Respondent: Revd Graham Wilkins

Representation Summary:

I have concerns about this planned development:

a) The loss of a wild area beneficial for local people and wildlife.

b)Access roads onto Colney Lane with land opposite this proposal already committed to two access roads which would lead to the possibility of enhanced traffic and therefore pollution.

I fear this proposal would lead to a loss of wildlife, woodland areas and overall a decreased quality of life for residents of the surrounding areas as well as students and staff. I long to see Cringleford, Colney and the surrounding areas flourish and this would seem a step away from that.

I have grave concerns about this planned development around:
a) The loss of a wonderful bit of wild area hugely beneficial for local people and all types of wildlife. Although I am generally supportive of the need for the UEA to be able to continue to meet the demands of a modern university this site seems to be the wrong area to build on. According to a recent study South Norfolk has only 2% Green Urban land and 3% Natural land - it would seem to be counterproductive to erode it even further.
