The area of GNLP 0244 forms a part of the River Yare Valley and if it was built on then the natural look of the central part of the valley between the Watton Road and the A47 would effectively be destroyed, which would compromise the integrity of the whole valley. The woodland is an important local asset and is used by many people especially at weekends for recreation.
