New, Revised and Small Sites

Representation ID: 17352

Received: 23/11/2018

Respondent: mrs Sandra Dropinski

Representation Summary:

1) Inadequate road systems to support such a development

2) Potential impact on local businesses in the local vicinity

3) Inadequate sewage/drainage systems in place to support such a large development

4) Roads not suitable for pedestrian usage, due to being unlit and of national speed limit

5) No local transport links that serve The Heath, the only bus stop is a 2 mile walk away, and located on the Cromer Road/A140 which is a 50mph road, and would cause significant safety risks for children travelling to school away from Hevingham

6) Impact on local wildlife habitat and hunting ground

I must object to this proposal for a number of reasons. The proposed site is surrounded by agricultural land/businesses. There are numerous farms, saw mills and arable land, in fact the site is flanked by a boarding kennels. The road through this area is a single track road with passing places, it is unlit with no pavement. The local school is not within safe walking distance, and again accessed on a single track unlit road, with no pavement, and often flooded from the pig farm that operates on both sides of the road. The bus stop is a two mile journey, so residents would have to have their own transport, putting extra pressure on already inadequate roads.
The area has electricity via overhead cables, no mains gas supply and over subscribed sewage system, so further development would put extreme pressure on these services.
There are also bats, owls, buzzards and other wildlife, that frequently hunt this area. I believe the proposed development would have a significant impact on their numbers, should development of their habitat take place.
The final point I would like to raise, is the fact that the application itself seems to have been done without any prior knowledge of the residents which it will impact directly. There has been no consultation with anyone that lives on The Heath next to the proposed site, and the application has directly implied that it meets suitability when it does not, i.e local amenities, transport links, the ability to obtain gas when there is clearly none available, as well as the suitability of the roads. Being that the applicant is a local man, we would suggest he would have access to all of this information prior to submitting his application.
