Representation Summary:

I Object because

1 Extra traffic and congestion on local roads - not good for the local environment
2 The proposed development should be bungalows and of the same density of local existing homes - better for people to live with space and gardens - it makes for more of a community spirit and healthy, happy residents
3 Need for another doctors surgery to serve all the new residents that will eventually live in Hellesdon
4 Open spaces for recreation should be a very high priority for the Greater Norwich Local Plan

As a local resident I am dismayed at the proposed development of the Jarrold's site for 50 dwellings. Their purchase of No 3 Prince Andrews Road will mean that all traffic from the site will either go in or out onto Prince Andrews Road or Heath Crescent (Fifers Road end). This will cause congestion as cars attempt to join Cromer Road either at Heath Crescent junction or Brabazon Road junction. There is already a problem on both theses roads with cars parked near to the junction with Cromer Road. Some of these appear to be commuters leaving their cars while they go off to work (Heath Crescent ) or cars belonging to residents living on Cromer Road or Brazen Road parked on the road near to the junction with Cromer Road instead of their own driveways. There will also be congestion at the junction of Heath Crescent and Fifers Lane. I believe the problem on the end of Heath Crescent of commuter parking has been resolved but it will still be difficult to join Fifers Lane. All this extra traffic is not good for the environment.

If this site is to be developed then I am of the opinion that it should be bungalows, which would fit in better with existing homes and at the same density of the local existing homes and not crammed in . It is better for people to live with space and gardens - it makes for more of a community spirit and healthy, happy residents. Talking of which we are in dire need of another doctors surgery to serve all the new residents that will eventually live in Hellesdon.

My last point is open spaces for recreation. I don't suppose that this a very high priority for developers but it should be for the Greater Norwich Local Plan and I would like to see this strongly implemented.
