Respondent: Mr Rodney Philo

Representation Summary:

As afore said, I think this should be left as playing field for the community of Hellesdson, as they have agreed to too many properties being built in Hellesdon, and we are losing our green areas and playing fields. We are no longer a Hellesdon Village, we are being slowly turned into a small town!!

My wife and I object to the proposal of building of houses on the Jarrold Sports Field Heath Cescent Hellesdon for the following reasons:

1.We have no green areas or playing fields for children this side of the Cromer Road.

2. To demolish a house to put a road in to accommodate more traffic, will reverse the reason the road was closed half way down in the first place. We already have problems with people parking to go to the airport and also employees of the businesses, around this area of Hellesdon, they park their cars here during the day, which has an impact on residents getting in and out of the road.

3.Also I would like to point out that the NDR has actually made Cromer Road more busy with the influx of traffic, that is using the road now. As residents of Heath Crescent, we still have problems getting onto Cromer Road due to the influx of traffic that uses the Cromer Road. Therefore, if these houses are built here, this will just increase the problem further, which Hellesdon, sorely needs right now, as we do not have the road infrastructure. I want to ask why, they have to access the site from Heath Crescent, when it could be accessed more easily from Lansdowne Road, Fifers Lane.

4.I would also like to know where the services i.e. extra Doctors, schools, etc, are coming from, as Doctors and Schools in Hellesdon, as far as I know, are at full capacity.

I think therefore, that this proposal has been thought through and yet again businesses want to make more money out of a piece of land, without consideration for the people who live round the area, to the detriment of the peoples social life and the property prices. I therefore propose that this is kept for a green playing field area for use of the community, especially children, as they have nothing this side of Cromer Road. This has been a playing field for decades and I can see no reason to put houses on here.
