Respondent: David Shreeve

Representation Summary:

I see that the area off Heath Crescent, previous the Jarrold's Sports Ground, is on offer for housing. I am afraid I have to oppose this. Surely this should be kept for local amenities considering the lack of green spaces in this area. I understand that Hellesdon already has less than the Statutory requirement of green space, and this could be purchased for the local authority to help make up the shortfall.

I also oppose the proposal for more housing beyond the Hellesdon Boundary off the Reepham Road as Hellesdon is already the most congested suburb of Norwich, this being even before they have built the houses on Norwich Golf Course and the possible further development at Hellesdon Hospital.

There has been no mention of services ie doctors, dentists or High Schools. All schools are already oversubscribed and existing residents are now having to take their children outside the Hellesdon area causing further traffic on the roads and air quality can only continue to get worse.

There is very little faith within the community that any improvements will be made as promises made for Thorpe Marriott for the improvement of reads, doctors surgery and a school which have never materiaised.
