Respondent: Mr Peter Cooper

Representation Summary:

My objection is based on the logistical nightmare that will be caused by 50 new houses and the associated extra cars, probably in the region of 100, vying for space in a small residential area.

I object to the proposed development of 50 houses on the Jarrolds sport ground. The logistics of this I find ridiculous. The addition of 50 new houses will have a large impact on the immediate area. I was one of the main contenders in getting Heath Crescent block off to stop the "rat run" from Fifers lane. 50 house will bring (according to national uk figures) another 100 + cars into our neighbourhood which is a very quite and mainly elderly area. Causing another rat run down Prince Andrews Road. The logistics of traffic being added to an already overcrowded road structure at Fifers lane and Cromer road and then leading to the almost permanently congested Boundry junction supports my objection. New houses bring new families - our local schools are fantastic but they are situated on the other side of the Cromer road and as is the norm today most mothers will drive even short distances to school! One only needs to look at the chaotic situation on Middletons lane each morning. The policing of cars dropping off children at these schools and Heather Avenue school borders on dangerous. The upheaval to the area by the services required Gas / Water / Drainage / Electricity will have a large impact on the already dilapidated pavements and roads and upon the people living here.
