I am writing to state my opposition to any plans to turn the Jarrolds Sports Ground (off of Heath Crescent, Hellesdon) into housing. We have so little green space left in Hellesdon and this ground needs to be made into an amenity area for local people.

I also very strongly object to the any plans to build more housing north of Hellesdon Medical Centre on Reepham Road. Reepham Road, along with Cromer Road and Drayton High Road, already suffers from gridlock with the current amount of traffic, especially at peak periods. Plus, any new estates on those pieces of land would technically be part of Horsford. Thus Horsford Parish Council and Not our Hellesdon Parish Council would receive the contributions from developers towards the costs of providing community and social infrastructure. But anybody living in these houses would not travel to Horsford for doctors, dentists and schools. They would want to use Hellesdon Medical Practice, our local NHS dentist surgery and Hellesdon schools putting them under even more pressure. Horsford Parish Council would be laughing all the way to the bank. Our pain - their gain.

Along with the golf course and Hellesdon Hospital we would be talking about approximately 1750 new house, probably 3500 adults and 3500 children of various ages. So this would probably mean up to 3500 extra cars. I believe there is too much air pollution in Hellesdon already with the traffic fumes from Reepham Road Cromer Road, Drayton High Road and the Ring Road, not to mention the aviation fumes from the airport.

Yours sincerely worried about the future of Hellesdon
