New, Revised and Small Sites

Respondent: Mr Paul Boyce

Representation Summary:

Former Jarrolds sports site off of Fifers Lane.

I strongly object to the development of this site as this is now about the last open space inside Hellesdon what with the development of the Golf site on the Drayton High Road.

As long as I can remember the Jarrolds site has been a communal site whereby football, bowls and tennis have regularly been played over the years and we can ill afford to lose the large open space which could be used for the locals of Hellesdon for varying pleasure uses.

The proposal is for 50 houses which would mean 100+ cars using this area which the roads are simply not equipped to take this additional traffic. As we already have parking issues what with the airport and local businesses which nobody seems to want to tackle. With the NDR opening we now appear to have more traffic building up on the Cromer Rd and we also have a new development called the Firs Park off of the Cromer Rd, and no idea how this additional traffic will affect and worsen the current situation and simply feel that the development of Jarrolds site should be refused for the benefit of the local community.
