Respondent: Mrs Susan Walker

Representation Summary:

The density of housing proposed. Concerned about the local road situation, Fifers Lane and Cromer Road coping with the extra traffic. There are already long Queues on these roads. The 2 new proposed roads to the site will result in a rat-run again between Fifers Lane and Cromer Road. Both Heath Crescent and Prince Andrews Road too narrow for extra traffic, Prince Andrews Road is twisty. Dangerous for children using these roads. Look at access from Fifers Lane. The number and size of HGV vehicles working on the site. Hellesdon needs more recreational land.

I am concerned about the density of housing proposed. I am mostly concerned about the local road situation, Fifers Lane and Cromer Road can not cope with the extra traffic? There are already long Queues on these roads. Also the 2 proposed roads to the site will result in a rat-run again between Fifers Lane and Cromer Road. Both Heath Crescent and Prince Andrews Road are narrow and Prince Andrews Road is twisty. It would be dangerous for children using these roads, one of the reasons for the barrier in Heath Crescent. A better access would be from Fifers Lane. Also concerned the number of HGV vehicles which will block access for existing residents while that the number of properties being built in a confined space. The surrounding buildings are mostly bungalows, any new building should be no higher than those around, otherwise they would overlook the existing housing. Hellesdon needs more recreational land.
