I object in respect on all these GNLP sites references. Swainsthorpe does not have the infrastructure to support any and all of these developments.
The traffic amenities both in the village and on the A140 will lead to Chaos and disasters.

The Council have concerns for the amount of dwellings for the size of the Village and the lack of amenities that the Village have. There are also concerns about the access to this development as it was on a blind bend with a play area opposite. There was also no amenities or public bus stops in the Village which were indicated on the plans. The only bus that stops is the school bus which already has generated its own parking issues. There was also no continuous footpath from the bus stop on the A140 to the proposed development site.

I object to this application because it outside the village permitted development area of Swainsthorpe. The access to the site exits on to double bends on Church Road, which will cause further danger to traffic and pedestrians opposite a village green with a children's play area. Swainsthorpe has no facilities, and adding another 20 houses is absurd, the site itself is waterlogged for most of the year and further flooding will no doubt affect the existing properties on Church Road.

The road infrastructure is already at saturation point. New housing provision can met from more suitable sites without further development of greenfield/agricultural land and without ruining our local villages
Chief objection relates to the existing saturated state of surrounding infrastructure and in particular the A140 which is routinely congested during day time hours. This congestion is scheduled to deteriorate further wth the construction of 1800 new dwellings in Long Stratton. Some local residents have already stopped using Dunstan Hall as it can often take 20/30 minutes to queue to get back on to the A140. Further development in this area will render journeys into Norwich as impossible at times
This is agricultural land and was acquired as such in the recent past. I am told that the family is well connected with the Norfolk establishment and I very much hope that this association will have no bearing on the outcome of this overly ambitious application

Swainsthorpe is a small rural community with limited infrastructure and access to the A140. The village has a strong history which remains to this day. Any development within the village must have regard given to access and ensuring that the village does not become just another large scale housing development which would eventually link the village to Norwich some 5 miles away. I have fears that allowing development in the village will open the floodgates to other larger developments which will ruin the character of the village and have consequences for current residents.

This is a large proposed development. We do not have the infrastructure in place within our village to support what will bring a huge and sudden influx of new residents to our tiny village. We have no shops, no post office, no school. The A140, which is the main transport link to Swainsthorpe, is already a very busy road - it is poorly maintained and there is queuing traffic at peak times. A building development of this size would cause a great deal of unacceptable noise, mess, and chaos to our peaceful community.

Building 25 new houses could not be done without affecting the form and character of the village as stipulated in the Joint Core Strategy and could not be construed as 'infill'.
The JCS also seeks to protect and enhance the individual character and culture of the area. Swainsthorpe currently does have its own individual character, it is friendly, quiet and rural and it needs protection to keep it that way.
Getting out of Church Road onto the A140 is already extremely difficult without disproportionally increasing the local population overnight who will all need cars as there are no local facilities.
Building 25 new houses could not be done without affecting the form and character of the village as stipulated in the Joint Core Strategy and could not be construed as 'infill'. The proposed position would destroy the view across the countryside for residents and would have a negative visual impact on the landscape.
The Joint Core Strategy also seeks to protect and enhance the individual character and culture of the area. Swainsthorpe currently does have its own individual character, it is friendly, quiet and rural and it needs protection to keep it that way. It needs protection from developers who would concrete over the green fields, destroying productive arable land as they ride roughshod over the concerns of the local people. GNLP states it will maximise development on brownfield sites - this is greenfield.
Access to the proposed development is on a dangerous S bend close to the railway line and with restricted views of oncoming traffic. It is close to the school bus stop and opposite a children's play area. The road through the village is narrow and uneven with several blind bends and is not suitable for any extra traffic - there could be an additional 50 cars from this development.
Getting out of Church Road onto the A140 is already extremely difficult without disproportionally increasing the local population overnight who will all need cars as there are no local facilities in the village. The A140 junction cannot cope with any additional cars - there are long tailbacks of idling cars at peak times now.

JCS - 25 houses is not very limited infill
No services in Swainsthorpe - need to drive everywhere
Does not protect and enhance Swainsthorpe
Access on a blind bend
Extra cars on unsuitable road through village
Added congestion on A140
The Joint Core Strategy states as an 'Other Village' very limited infill can occur. 25 houses is a large development in a productive green field alongside existing properties in a tiny village. What happens when we have concreted over so many green fields there is a shortage of land for producing food?
GNLP says it will focus rural growth on villages with services - Swainsthorpe does not have any services. Occupants of any new houses will need to drive to shops, doctors, etc. increasing climate change and air pollution.
JCS - This proposal does not protect and enhance the individual character and culture of the area - it would destroy productive green fields, harm insects and wildlife on which we rely and spoil the countryside.
There could be up to 50 extra cars on the road through the village. Access is on a double blind bend close to the school bus pickup and the level crossing for the high speed railway line. The road through Swainsthorpe is narrow and uneven and unsuitable for more traffic.
Increased traffic from this development will add to the existing daily congestion on the A140 and make the road even more dangerous. Traffic frequently crawls along this road and at peak times there are long queues into/out of Norwich.

I strongly object to the 25 dwellings proposed in the small village of Swainsthorpe. I believe the proposed development will saturate the beautiful environment which dates back thousands of years. Unfortunately with no current amenities in the village, ie school, doctors surgery etc will only implode on the services currently available. Not to mention the added traffic to the already congested A140 and small surrounding access roads.

I strongly object to the proposed 25 dwellings. In order to maintain the nature and heritage of the landscape the fields should be preserved for the countryside to be cherished by future generations. The local village doesn't have any amenities and will cause further strain onto the surroundings areas such as Mulbarton. Unfortunately the modern day culture is to plan, build and build more which is destroying small villages. Goes against the policy known as 'small village' with the amount of dwellings added to the existing population. New developments cause traffic and would be extremely dangerous with already inadequate lanes.

The GNLP has an obligation to 'protect and enhance our many environmental assets'. This development will not achieve this and is a further creeping encroachment on unspoilt and agricultural countryside in a village with no services or justification for further housing development. This development will further blur the boundaries between built-up and open countryside.
Access from the proposed development to Church Road is on a blind corner and is unsafe - it cannot possibly meet Highways specifications for access.

it will increase traffic on Church Road which cannot cope at present with long delays at the A140 junction and further building at Mulbarton will just make this worse,
it will cause disturbance, upheaval and a general lowering of the standard of living for existing residents.

Village too small to sustain the number of dwellings and development.
No medical centre, school, local shop so more pressure on current services
Lack of local facilities will increase car use to other local amenities causing environmental damage.
Road inadequate for construction traffic and subsequent service lorries.
There are no local jobs so increased traffic on the existing road network ie busy A140.
Encroaches farm land which is needed to ensure the country can feed itself (especially in the current political climate)
In an increasingly urbanised county brownfield sites should be explored as Green Space is essential for general well-being
The village is too small to sustain the number of dwellings and amount of development as outlined. The village itself does not have the infrastructure to support additional houses as there is no medical centre, school, local shop, pub etc. An increased population will put more pressure on current services ie the doctor's in Mulbarton and lack of local facilities means that there will be an increase in car use to access other local amenities, with resulting environmental damage. There is one main road through the village and this is inadequate for construction traffic and subsequent service lorries which will need to access the area. There are no local jobs so an increased population will inevitably result in increased traffic on the existing road network including the busy A140 junction which is already hazardous to both through A140 traffic and joining traffic entering or leaving the village. The proposed development encroaches on farm land and arable land is needed to ensure the country can feed itself (especially in the current political climate) so should be retained where possible. Finally, the village is a quiet, tranquil oasis in what is becoming and increasingly urbanised county. Brownfield sites should be urgently explored as Green Space is essential for general well-being and should be fiercely protected.

A totally inappropriate development for a village the size of Swainsthorpe.
Access to the development on a sharp bend would create further traffic problems to ones already being experienced due to the increased traffic flow from the new housing developments in Mulbarton. At certain times of day the village is a 'rat run' for vehicles cutting across to the already over congested A140.
